How can you touch people with your singing? (II)

In the previous article, I mentioned that the self-consciousness of the audience, whether it is directed towards their own problems, knowledge or aesthetic judgments, is an obstacle which has to be surmounted in order for a performance to be touching. How can we overcome such hindrance? I believe that having a mental picture while performing is the…

How can you touch people with your singing? (I)

As a singer, nothing gives a bigger compliment than the tears of the audience. The tears mean that you have transcended the technicalities of singing (such as breath support) and have made music– music that reaches their souls. Hence, in order to accomplish this lofty goal, singers have tried various ways: moving their bodies and limbs,…

[Piano for Adults]

放手”完的感覺似英國詩人John Milton (名著Paradise Lost “失樂團”的作者)所說的 “calm of mind, all passions spent” 。 Brahms Intermezzo Op. 118 No. 2: [English Version] There has been a huge amount of books, discourses in general, about the benefits of learning piano for adults, such as stress relief. Is there anything else I can add?  Before answering this question,…

Data Processing [Learning Data Processing through Bach]

YouTube。 [English Version] Why learn piano in Hong Kong? The effort involved seems futile in many aspects: first, it will not give your children an edge in their…
